Hongkong, 16th. April, 1908.

In the 16th. paragraph of my

Despatch Confidential of 26th. ultimo, on the subject of

the Kowloon-Canton Railway, I described the manner in

which it is proposed to curve Des Voeux Road round into

Middle Road, and to close the portion South of that point

I observed that I anticipated that the consent of the

owners can be obtained to these arrangements without

expense to Government.

I have now the honour to enclose

a plan showing how the connection between Des Voeux Road

and Salisbury Road may still be preserved if any difficulty

should be experienced in obtaining the concurrence of the

owners of the Lots in the neighbourhood to the arrangements

proposed in my former Despatch or if for the general

public convenience it should be found advisable to make

this connection. As may be seen from the plan Salisbury
